Upon&nbsp; receiving signals to do a particular action it sends signals through the spinal cord to the concerned muscles&nbsp; via nerves. For example to make a fist or to bend the elbow the muscles in the hand and in the elbow region receive signals from the cerebral cortex through spinal cord and nerves and perform the desired action.
